As an interior designer, or in fact anyone interested in design- the Pantone colour of the year is an exciting insight into the design styles coming into trend. A symbolic colour selection chosen by Pantone to reflect the mood and attitude of global culture.
“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute
The zesty and fresh colour of Greenery reminds us of the first days of spring, going outdoors, taking a deep breath in to rejuvenate, restore and cleanse.
You are likely to see many hints of this colour throughout the coming months; for example some of the items I have discovered for you below. Consider paring this colour with other shades of greens and browns to create a forest floor feel to your space, or perhaps rev it up with bold orange, blues and yellows, (great for a child’s bedroom), or even adding an elegant touch by combining with floral colours for an all-season bloom in your room.
Whether you choose to use this colour as inspiration for your interiors, through wallpaper, fabrics or accessories be sure that it will freshen up any scheme and add that slight element of zen we all should seek.
